Traveling with your Leos

I know that a lot of you travel to shows with your leos. At the end of the summer I will be returning to school (about a 6 hour drive), and was wondering about how to transport leos. What are the best containers? I'm assuming water should be offered, but should mealies be available too? Will they need a heat supply? Any other pointers y'all can think of will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I usually stick them in a critter keeper or similar. Those ones that are called 'breeder boxes' or something of the sort that they sell at Petco but are wider than tall work great. For the trip I usually have them just in there, maybe a hide/gecko or something (but only if you think it's not going to get rattled/ slid or whatever). And I put them on the passenger seat or on the floor of the passenger side and keep the car at a decent temperature. That seems to work just fine for trips under, say, 8 hours or so. Longer than that and I'd start to get worried about heat issues, moisture issues, etc. They certainly don't need food. Unless you're driving for a week save yourself some grief and just feed them when you get there.

most breeders put each gecko in a 1lb deli container with air holes, then stack those inside tubs. Then the tubs have air holes and heat/cold packs as well as shredded paper to keep the deli containers from shifting/falling over. Thats just something that Ive noticed from going to shows and watching breeders enter and unpack, or pack up at the end of the show.
