Tropical geckos

Hello, I am totally new to geckos but I would like to possibly set up a vivarium and get one (or more) at some point in the future. I really love tropical vivariums and would like to know what geckos are considered tropical that would do well in such an enclosure. Similar to a poison dart frog enclosure, temps in the mid to high 70's and high humidity (80% or more) and well panted. That way I have some specific geckos I can look at and research. Thanks for any info you can give and sorry about the newb question.

Here is a shot of my PDF viv. I think that I enjoy the vivarium as much as the frogs. That is the reason I am interested in a tropical variety of gecko because I will get twice the enjoyment.

You could try to look at some Phelsuma species for these kinds of vivs!

yes, i think there are lots of geckos that would love a viv like that, i think you might want to raise the temps up to 80 though (depending on gecko).

what size gecko are you looking for?

if your looking for a medium size gecko i think flying geckos would love something like that, as long as they had lots of climbing places.

flying geckos are cheap, tough, and in my opinion one of the coolest geckos out there.

if your looking for large and colorful, a tokay would probably work.

if your looking for something small, bright, and active during the day, check out some of the day geckos.

if you want something unusual check out some of the leaf tailed geckos.

good luck!

I'm not quite sure it that is their natural habitat, but I caught a mediteranean gecko and put it in a similar setup along with two frogs. He hides alot, but is a voracious eater. You can go outside and catch them in the southeastern portion of texas. They are not native, and therefore not protected, but they are the most common lizard by far here. I find tons of them every day. Today, I even found an albino. It had a muted yellow head with yellow markings on the normal background color. It was awesome!
