Judging by your video, you are off to a good start. When you can start feeding depends on how many mouths you have to feed. Keep them warm keep them very well fed and the colony will take off in no time. I kept my first Dubia colony for about 8 months before i started to feed out of it and I waited way to long lol. because they produce way more then I feed and im only feeding 6 leopard geckos, 4 adult crested geckos and their offspring, with a few micro geckos. Just dont clean their bin unless they really need to be cleaned i clean mine maybe once a year to every 15 months. some of my colonies actually go about 2 years before being cleaned. I dont clean it because of the Frass I clean it due to lots of sheded skins and dead bodies. The frass is good for raising babies in and some say that they actually grow faster with having a nice layer of frass to feed through and hide in. You are the right track i liked the video and i would let them sit for 6 more months before doing another head count to see how many you have. when i decided to stop watching mine thats when I was shocked as to how many i had. :main_thumbsup:

Thanks for the info. Didn't know about not cleaning too often. When I first started it I was told to clean it once a month. I think i'll leave it longer then :)

this is how i look at it. their roaches... a lil bit of their own poop wont kill them. everytime you take them oyt and clean you are disturbing the colony. try it out both ways and just see what works for you.
