i was wondering if i could feed our leopard gecko this kind of roach? the lady at petsmart said i couldnt feed them any roaches because it would seriously harm her. but i would prefer to check with you guys about that because this was the same lady that told me my bearded dragons didnt need a uv bulb so i take everything they say with a dumptruck load of salt.

Yes, yes you can. Turkistan aka Blatta lateralis are a fast breeding, non glass climbing roach. They also do not dig or burrow and move fast. They tend to run in straight lines and their movement attracts a lot of animals that are stimulated by fast moving prey. Also the lady at petsmart has no knowledge, first hand or even second hand as far as roaches go. If she did she would not have made such a claim. I am sure the people here will agree that those who have used roaches have never had any harm befall any of their animals that have been fed roaches.

Ya, the lady's talking out her butt. Roaches are great food. I personally hate Turkistan roaches because they're small, bright red, and move super fast. Creeps me out. But I could see them being fantastic food for bug-eating geckos. I may suck it up and get more for my faties.

I personally feed mine blaptica dubia roaches, Blatta lateralis, and meal worms. Usually the blatta lateralis are the ones that get eaten the quickest because of their quick movement. It is too bad that so many workers at the chain stores have little to no knowledge about the animals that they are selling.
