Turtle in the road

So we went to NC today to look at apartments and we were driving along when we noticed a turtle in the road. We didn't want it to get hit so we stopped to move it, fortunatly when we pulled up next to it it moved to the side of the road because I wasn't going to touch this guy lol Our dog went crazy barking out the window so I think that helped move him along Very cool little guy though!

LOL, welcome to nc . I see at least 20 turtles in the road total during summer. I've had to move a large alligator snapping turtle like that one before, if you hold they properly they can't take your hand off.

Snapping turtles have a much longer neck than you would think, making it easy for them to get a hold of you. They are one of my favorite turtles. In upstate NY were I live I see hundreds of snappers through out the summer.
