Turtles coming out in Maryland!

I pass by a little swampy area riding my bike to and from work everyday. Since it's started to warm up I've been seeing these guys basking out on broken tree trunks. I counted 21 yesterday. Took the camera to get some pictures today. This is in College Park, MD. I have no idea what type of turtle this is. I'm fairly certain they're all the same species.

The Quality isn't teriffic. Have to use the digital zoom to get close shots. Unfortunately there's a fence keeping me from getting physically closer than 5-6 feet away. My camera does great macro shots.

This one has some nice false eyes on the back of it's head.

Ya someone else had suggested that as well on another site. I'm guessing you're correct. I wish I could have gotten a shot when they were all out basking like the day before. Oh well, I'm still enjoying the pictures
