Hi lately i have been thinking about getting another leo to share a tank with my old one. If I were to get a female would the mate??

well if ones male and ones female then yeah lol.
so it might not be such a good idea, unless your willing to take on eggs and stuff. Also if shes not ovulating he might be pestering her to mate alot and she can injure him if she doesnt want to, which she wont if shes not ovulating.

Keeping one male and one female together isn't recommended. Regardless of whether or not you're prepared to handle incubating eggs, a male will continually try to mate with the female, which will stress her out and can negatively affect her health.

The others are right mating will happen plus from what i've seen once housed alone they preffer it and will fight. Less likely to get along with another as there used to being alone and used to having ther own territory. Best to just get a new set up and put it in there.
