My gecko is ~2 years old, and usually sheds every 2-3 weeks. She finished a shed a few days ago, and at her next feeding time I introduced a new food (calciworms). Usually I spray a calcium supplement in her food because me and the vet thought she was at risk for MBD for a while, and I read then that calciworms haven't been around in stores for too long. But it seems most people have had success with them, if they can get their leopard geckos to eat it. So I bought it to try to vary her diet, and she loved them. She also eats waxworms for a treat (not often), and usually she eats large mealworms, but I bought the giant ones this time because she's big enough to eat those now.
About 24 hours after that feeding, I noticed her color was dulling again... and now she looks like she's ready to shed any moment, but in the last 12 hours nothing has happened yet (though she usually takes 1-2 days to shed anyway, starting from the time her color dulls). When I handle her, she is very alert and excited to play. Nothing else seems out of the ordinary... Can a diet change cause a shedding change like this? I thought about introducing roaches next, but now I'm not sure what to do.
