I purchased this guy from a breeder earlier this year. He told me that he was labeled as Super Snow Rainwater Het. Typhoon. After talking to the guy he told me that he could actually be a Typhoon..But he wasn't sure because his pattern was more bold than his sibling whom was labeled as a Typhoon. How would I know if he is a typhoon or just het for it? I've seen geckos for sale as Typhoons by some pretty big breeders that look just like him?

I would say that he's not a typhoon because he doesn't have the white nose and feet that are characteristic of an eclipse but there's always a chance he is. You just can't tell 100% without breeding because the eyes of the super snow are solid.

Ya, it's hard to truly tell what anything is these days by sight. You have to either breed the traits out to truly know, or take the breeder at their word.

Super snow that were out of geckos that are het for eclipse in general are almost always labeled as "possible eclipse" or "het eclipse" because its really hard to tell. You can only really say for sure if the nose and feet traits are obvious but even those are sometimes obscured since the geckos are already predominantly white.

Here's a couple pictures of different eclipses I own. The white nose and feet are really obvious on the snow and Raptor but the nose is less obvious on the typhoon boy and almost invisible on the W/Y.You can see by their eyes that they're all eclipse (except the stubborn Raptor). The head markings and nose tend to fade a bit as they mature which may be why the typhoon boy's is hard to see as he's the only full grown one of the bunch :)
