Uh weird Alien cricket?

Ok so today I was cleaning out my cricket cage to remove dead crickets and feed them. I noticed a very odd cricket. It looked like layers of the skin on it's shoulder/ back area had been peeled away showing a pink fleshy area. The nasty area was pulsating and the cricket was trying to like crawl like a worm cuz it's legs were curled up underneath it. Also, his head wasn't plit in half, but it kinda looked like those splits u get on your lip sometimes when they get too dry? The plit was white and his brain/ white liquid was slowly oozing out of it. He was still alive too. It looked like a scene from the movie Alien when the thing was coming out of the guy's stomach. BLEH! Does anyone know what happened to the thing? It was pretty creepy and I hope it didn't passs thie disease thing to all of my other crickets.

Sounds like it was shedding, their exoskeleton splits open, and when they crawl out they are soft and white and look like an alien. Their normal color returns after the new exoskeleton darkens.

didn't even seem like it though cuz his head was oozing some nasty stuff and he didn't turn white before he moulted
