just got my 6x11 ultratherm yesterday for my 10 gal tank bc i wanted a uth that didnt need a thermostat and would stay at a constant 95 degrees (ish) i have ceramic tile substrate... and i cant get the temps to that... i used foil tape and stuck it to the bottom of the tank...

i wanna keep the tile substrate, and switched back to my other uth, which gets way to hot so i put cardboard and paper towels under it, would a thermostat do the trick? or just a smaller uth? like the zoo-med 1-5 gallon uth?

I'm using tile substrate and a UTH...with the warm weather, my floor temp was getting up to about 100 - 101 (which I felt was too high). I ended up getting a herpstat (which some have said is overkill), but it is working perfectly regardless of the time of year. :)
