unforunate defecation location.

Just going to vent my displeasure with the location of my new leo's defectorium (since NOBODY outside of this community would understand or care).

Its 10 gallon is located temporarily on my nightstand right near my bed - I awoke this morning to an awful stench, without the slightest idea where it was coming from. Convinced it was just some early morning, post-sleep delirium, I ignored it.

Well now its bed time... and again that terrible reek. I didn't see any new poo piles in her enclosure, until I lifted the warm hide up. There was the source, a 2 day pile of at least 4 bowel movements sitting on the ceramic tile above the UTH like a serving of something unholy steaming on a warm griddle, just filling the room with its delectable aroma.

S/he is just a baby, only about 3'', an eating and pooping machine - I can honestly say it hasn't yet learned the meaning of the phrase "don't crap where you eat."

See I'm hoping this little one follows the trend that my other has established - pooing on the most opposite corner where it can cool down and dry out.

Needless to say baby doesn't sleep by daddy's pillow anymore.

LOLOLOL that's too funny man!

Mine like to poop on the warm side as well. Isn't it amazing such small creatures, small piles of dung, yet they stink so bad? LOL.

Mine does it on the warm side too. I ended up double tiling it so at least that corner doesn't get -that- warm, and its easy to remove to clean daily.

My gecko was doing the exact same thing... and I was actually worried that she hadn't pooped in a few days. I lifted her warm hide and there it was... but this was when she had reptile carpet. Now that I'm using Tile in there, she's been walking all the way over to the edge of the cool side and pooping in a gap between the tile and tank glass.

I put the tile down for a number of reasons... one of those being easy clean-up... yet my geckos found a crap gap. So I have to remove everything anyways to get to it.

Vent? Ha, Ha... (Sorry, I just *had* to go for the cheap pun.)

My gecko loves to "go" right over his UTH as well... nothing like waking up to a nice warm gecko present!
