Well I have been doing research and my theory is his eyes have grown sensitive to all light. He's been using a Red light and they cant really see the Red light and since he has cages next to other cages they get in the way of the Light when I turn on the room, Window light just about any light that turns on in the house. So he's always been in the dark. Since leopard geckos are mostly in the dark in the wild I didn't think this would affect him much. Could he just have to be slowly introduced to light slowly by slowly? His eyes seem to be going through stages. He rarely opens the left eye and the right eye becomes harder and harder to stay open even when he's in his dark cage. His right eye is beginning to look like his Left eye right before he refused to open it no matter what. Please give me your thoughts and suggestions on this! Such as cage movement, Heat switches, etc. I hope Neo doesnt go blind, Thanks for listening to all my previous posts guys ;)

if you want to try the light slowly you can get different levels of tinting from lowes or home depot. comes in a roll no adhesive just sticks to glass can be reused. i use a pebble version on my leos 55 gallon so they get light from my window but not too much. looks cool too lol

Glass filters out most uv lights, and tinted glass will probably filter out more. I let minimal light go in, but not directly, so they have a night/day cycle.

Yeah i'll try and move his cage. No UV going on. I used to use Purple bulbs at night but I heard that they were UV so I stopped but the geckos who used those have not been affected and its been almost 2 Years. I stopped 1 Month after and there was never any real exposure. Only 2 Lizards ever went on UV ( Achilles and Athena ) but Neo never did. I think i'll try moving it next to the window because Light bothers him a ton, Should I resume using the red light for heat though? He's been needing a heat sources so I let him get warm through the light for atleast 3 - 5 Hours a day. He's eyes are always closed in his enclosure though.

Maybe try a ceramic heat bulb? Get the heat with no light. You can also go back to the purple bulb. There is no UV in it. The light spectrum heating purple falls into is an "Infra" not an "Ultra" ray. Besides any bulb with UV WILL be marked for it. UV is a very different type of ray than most others in the spectrum and it falls into the category of light you can't see with the naked eye. The purple is less abrasive to look at than the red.

Ah, They used to enjoy the purple one. I guess i'll get those on again at night. Thanks! Though I'm still lost with Neo, I'll try fixing his night and day cycle. It should help.
