Update on Sick Leo!!

Ok so I posted this a week or so ago http://geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=77602.

Now she has been pooping normally and still eating fine so im assuming she is digesting properly otherwise her poop would look weird right? Well someone that works at Petsmart told my mom that its ok to give them baby applesauce as well as her regular feedings to help gain up her weight. Now before I did that I wanted to check and see if thats ok to do because it seems a little off to me. Please let me know.

No to applesauce! Leopard geckos are insectivores. Glad your gecko is doing better

lol idk if that would even fatten your gecko up, i would recommend feeding it waxworms if it is underweight, but dont make them a staple diet bcuz geckos can get addicted to them.

Thats exactly what I told me mom, they are insectivores lol. I figured the applesauce would be a no, idk where that women got her info from lol. Thanks guys =).

A lot of people from big chain pet stores have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. Makes me sick with the fact that they give so many people false and potentially lethal advice and information.

As long as her stools look fine (not runny), she's eating properly, and is active, I see no reason to worry anymore. I'd still keep an eye on her, though, but it sounds like she's on the right road.

Oh, and don't use the applesauce.

Yea i know. I am 90% sure I just got a job at Petsmart so there will be at least 1 person who knows what they are talking about now haha. As for Belle, she keeps her eyes closed alot but I checked her eyes and they are fine and she shed last week and I was a worry wart the whole time lol. She shed perfectly fine so idk whats up with her =/.
