Well my new additions have been in our family for just about a month now, so I thought I would post a quick update.
I got a 1.1 pair from Ben Siegel as a birthday present for my daughter and as a new pet for me (I know how kids can be :))
Well after a month they are doing GREAT! 2 weeks ago I separated them and now they each have their own viv.
When they arrived they both weighed 13g , when I seperated them they weighed 15g (female) and 17g(male). They are great eaters, and down 7-10 mealies per night.
Yesterday I weighed them again... Lexi (Female) is at 23 grams and the Chuck (boy) is up to 28 grams!!!
She is still really skittish, and "growls" at me when I handle her. So I know she isn't happy. I try not to pressure her much, I usually just put me hand in and let her smell and lick me once a day. Or even just let her walk across my hand. But she is still not real interested in me... AT ALL.
Now Chuck, he is Mr. Personality! He is always poppin his head out to watch me and as soon as he hears the feeder container he is out and waiting like a dog! He when I an not feeding, he comes out whenever I open the viv lid. When I put my hand in the walks all over it and sniffs and licks me. I don't pick him up much because he is still pretty skittish and I don't want to freak him out.
Overall I am really happy with how they are coming along. Also I am thoroughly enjoying growing their feeders (mealies) and providing them with excellent food. I love being able to research and learn how to care for them even better.
Here are some pics:
