My leopard gecko, which was born June 4 2008, hasn't eaten anything for almost two months now, and he is clearly on the brink of starvation. His name is Ryu. His tail is thin as a rail, he's lethargic (except when handled, then he is very active) and he hasn't grown since he stopped eating. I got a new gecko a few weeks after it stopped eating, her name is Shimo, and she was born in September of 2008. She is now three times as fat as him and about a centimeter longer. I have been to the vet and Ryu had no injuries or obvious ailments, he is just thin.
I have quarantined him today to try to get a poop sample to bring to my vet to check for worms, but since he isn't eating I am afraid he won't poop either. I have been feeding him the Golden Gate slurry formula for about two weeks once or twice a day, but he barely opens his mouth and doesn't seem to be getting any better. I am very very worried I might lose him.
He also has some strange behaviour that he has been displaying for about four months. Ocassionaly, he will snap his mouth open very violently, multiple times, close his eyes and back up like something is biting his face. He also thrashes his head to the sides and scratches at his cheeks and jaw.
Hopefully I will have a poop sample soon because I suspect worms and I have ruled out as much as I can, but ANY advice is very much appreciated. He is my first gecko and I would be extremely upset to lose him
