was this gecko a recent purchase or have you had him a while. and are you getting the temperature reading from inside the tank or just what you have the thermostat set at?

Honestly, leos seem to go off food ever so often for reasons from seasonal to hormonal, sometimes for weeks at a time. If his tail has shrunk that much in two weeks I'd really be worried about other health complications since it should take more than just two weeks to make them lose that much weight. I'd really suggest having him evaluated by a vet.

In the meantime, you might want to bump the temp up a bit, especially if you don't have a temp gun to test the temp on the inside of the bin/tank. Your in tank belly temp is usually going to be at least a degree or two lower than what you have the heat source set at, and 88 is a little low to begin with imo, if that's what you have your thermostat set at. Still not totally clear if that temp is an air reading or if you've got a temp gun to test the temp on the floor?
