using Emu Oil to help with shedding?

One of my female leos- about 8 mo. old-is having a problem this time with her shed. She has a moist hide on the warm side. I have tried soaking 4-5 times in the past 3 days, but she still has a little stuck on one foot, and on her lower tummy? I raise and breed Bluetongued skinks- and when they have trouble with a shed, I use Emu Oil, and it comes right off. Do you think Emu Oil would be safe to use with leos as well?

I think folks don't really know so are hesitant to reply. My thought would be that if its okay on your skink it should be okay on the gecko but leos skin is a lot thinner than that of a BTS. If you plan to try it I would try a very small amount before you use a lot of it to make sure it doesn't hurt or burn your leo. Not shedding properly or after a soak seems to me would be caused by an underlying issue so I would also make sure you're using a high quality vitamin/mineral supplement and that you're using an UTH rather than over tank lights to heat your leos cage.

Let us know how it goes!

I am using a UTH- no overhead lights. Some has come off with the soaking-just not all. I have 4 leos- all are kept the same, and I have had no issued with anyone til now. I do use a good multi-vitamin, and cal with and without d3, so I am really hoping this is a fluke. It has been so cold and dry here this winter!
