i can never keep my feeders ( supers and mealies ) in a shallow enough dish for my leos to eat out of without them getting out. i know that you are suppose to smear a line of petroleum jelly on the top of a hissing cockroach tank to keep them from climbing so i was wondering if you could do that to the sides of your feeder, or would the petroleum jelly be toxic to the leos?

I have done that a couple times, although it was with my fire skink. The vaseline didn't seem to have any effect on him. I never tried it for my leos though. Good question.

urban legend has it, that the inventor of vaseline ate a spoon full every night, and lived past 96. I cant confirm such legend but I think it is ok to help keep the bugs in, I use it sometimes too. I use deli cups with the lid on, and cut out the center leaving around 3/4 to 1 in all the way around, large dubia roaches can still work their way out, so I vaseline the underside of the lid and it keeps them in.
