Currently my 20 gallon is located on top of my wood dresser and I have been concerned about the UTH being to hot on the wood. How dangerous is this and does anybody have any ideas on how to create a barrier or some kind of spacing between the heater and the wood? Thank everyone!

Get a sheet of styrofoam the same lenght and depth as your terrarium (but about 1'' overlap) and about 1/2 to 1'' thick.
That will not only solve your problem, it will also direct the heat in only one direction, up, where your leo's tummy is :main_yes:
