UTH Setup Question

Ok I'm in the process of setting up my UTH on a ten gallon tank. I was reading the little info thing that comes with it. It says that glass tanks are what you should use it on, but says nothing about putting the tank (other than that you shouldn't put it on antique furniture). As of right now I do not have a stand, and was hoping to just set up on the hardwood floor. Is that okay? The UTH came with little feet that I'm going to put on the tank. Has anyone had any problems with placing their tank(s) on wood?

Thanks bunches!
Airi

PS - I do have a thermostat for the UTH.

I use UTH's under my tanks and all are sitting on wood shelves with no warping or problems!

And you stuck it to the bottom with that adhesive they have on them? Or at least the ZooMed one I got does.

oh and sometimes I stuck them on and sometimes I left the film over the sticky side and just taped them on in case I had to move them to a different tank later

That's a great idea. I may have to move the pad and was worried about breaking it. The info thingy said that your could rip it if you tried pulling it off after sticking it to the tank.

Right to the bottom of my tanks is where they are stuck, never peeled off at all too. I get approx 88 on the warm side without any added heat. mine aren't zoo med

I had to peel the UTH off and put it on another tank and the adhesive was fine as long as u peel it off slowly when its warm so the adhesive is soft and

Ahhhh! That's good to know.

For now I've just taped them to the bottom of the tank and it's working just fine. :)
