uth under metal?

i was throwing around ideas in my head about making different cages and i thought about just using angle iron and some sheet metal and making a cage with the opening on the side instead of the top, like to be placed in a shelving unit. would a uth work through the sheet metal? and also what about plywood with a uth?

you have to make sure the UTH is grounded. If not there is a shock potential.I wouldnt use metal.Wood is fine
