just wanted everyones opinion on which is best, im currently using a uth with tile, im finishing building the new display cabinet for lily and going to setup either a 20L which i already have or possibly a 30g breeder if i can get one of the local stores to order me one(same size as 20l just 18wide instead of 12) im going to use tile in this one also, but since its going to be a display and i want a light on it, im debating using a uth , a heat lamp or ceramic heat emitter , the heat lamp would serve as a primary heat source and then switch to a heat emitter at night, or just get the uth and have a regular light light for viewing and just keep a heat lamp for backup.

go with the UTH and use a normal florescent light for viewing, IMHO

I use a mixture of over tank heat source as well as under tank heat source. Since it is snowing and blowing in my neck of the woods and i don't like to turn up the heat too high in the house. room temp is around 70 but i like to maintain a 85 degree air temp on the warm side and a around 77ish on the cooler side. floor temp would be warmer of course.

same situation here, house stays around 68 depending where u are in the house, i've been running both on and off to keep her warm, uth keeps the floor at only 80, so i've been running the a 50w heat lamp to get it at around 85. i know part of my problem is the tiles, they arent as heat conductive as slate which is one thing im going to change for the new setup.
