Hey! I've been super busy so it's been awhile. I should update you guys on my geckos but that will have to wait. :)

I just bought a 36" x 22" x 15" tank (it was custom made and the front "curves" out. pretty cool :D). Anyways, I'm looking to order another UTH. The cobra ultratherm ones 20watts (not the 15 watts) 11"x11" or 11x17 (I need two since there is a bar for support in the middle underneath the tank so I can't put one large one across). I need two of them now but I can't seem to find them anywhere! I've been able to purchase them in the past but they are no longer available. Any suggestions? ALSO: it must be able to ship to Canada - which seems to be the hardest thing to find right now lol

these are the ones I am referring to:

Thanks!
P.S Dogshrink, if you are still around, that amazon site no longer has any! ahh)

Well I have the exo terra desert one 11x11 and it's 16 watts but it only reaches 85F through the tiles. Last time, you (Dog Shrink) showed me the link to the ultratherms which was 11x11 but was 20 watts so my temps could actually reach 90+. But now I need more and cannot find them online.

Reptile Direct has 11x11 but 12 watt
bean farm has 11x11 but 14 watt
Flukers brand says the UTH will operate at 100F but what if it doesnt?

I'm afraid that these will not reach the proper temps. I'm supplementing with a ceramic heater but i'd prefer if all the heat came from the UTH

Should I continue purchasing and using Exo Terra? or is the Ultratherm from Bean farm better even with the lower wattage?

Check this out hon.

http://www.bigappleherp.com/Big-Apple-Adjust-A-Temp-Heat-Mats-Model-CA?sc=2&category=14 This one is really neat... not an ultratherm or cobra but... 8x18 22 watt adjustable temp.

Also the ultratherm and T-Rex cobra mats are designed to work at a constant 100 degees so I don't know if the exo terra would make you happy. I have an exo terra on my son's pythons tank and I'm not very happy with it. It can't even heat thru his slate bottom on the tank.

The flukers one that resembles the ultratherm heats up a lot! I have a 6x8 one and it had no problem getting up to 104 degrees.

I haven't heard too many good things about Flukers, so that's good to know. How long have you had it?

About a month and a half. It came in that leopard gecko starter kit they sell at pet stores. Looks exactly like the ultratherm and gives off plenty of heat. It currently has to go through the tank, repticarpet, and tile. heats up to 93 degrees perfectly on a thermostat.

The 104 degrees was on repticarpet alone and before I got a thermostat, but I'm pretty sure it will get up to 100 degrees or more if I took it off the thermostat.

I really have no complaints besides the small size and that it didn't come with tank spacers, but that's not the UTH's fault. A larger zoomed uth is in the mail so we will see how they compare.

whoa those are some really unique mats that i've never seen before lol

I would try them but I like to use something that has been around for a while so I have feedback from other users.

And no, I'm not happy with the Exo ones. It barely hit 87 on carpet, and on tile it barely reaches 85. But I mean, my room is extremely cold so I can't really blame it. lol

Anyways, I might go with the bean farm ones. I'm pretty excited for my new tank :)
Thanks for the links though. I just wish I could find that other in that black box lol

I'm pretty sure you could trust the Dragon's lair one. Big apple herps is a pretty BIG distributer of herp supplies.
