UTH with tile question

I am setting up a new 20L tank using a slate tiles for substrate. I am curious where to put the UTH. Should it go under the glass like normal? Or should I try putting it between the glass and the tile?

I apologize if this has been discussed many times before.

Thanks.

I also use tile for substrate in my tank and I put the UTH under the tank, just like you would with other substrates. The heat has no problems going through the glass and tile, my temperatures are fine :)

Yep, under the tank glass is perfect. I use tile on both my leo tanks as well. I actually had to get rheostats as the tile temp was too hot on the warm side

Just don't forget the little rubber 'feet' meant to go on all four corners of the underside of the tank. This will provide airflow to greatly minimize the chance of the glass cracking in case of over-heating.
