Vermiculite vs Coco Fiber - what use in wet-box

Hi all,

I have been using both as a substrate in wet-box...I noticed that my geckos sometimes eat vermiculite and also coco fiber...so what should I use even if this mean that sometimes they are going to eat it...need You opinion about what is best...thx

Go with coco fiber, just run your fingers through it and pick out large threads and pieces when preparing it. Much safer than ingesting vermiculite.

I've always gone with coco fiber or organic soil. It's better for them to dig in anyway, which terrestrial geckos definitely enjoy.

I'm using laterite/lateritic soil mixed with coco fiber now. Coco fiber works wonders

vermiculite is toxic and they might ingest it, i'd go with coco fiber or spagnum.
