I have a leo thats about to lay some eggs. Should be any day now, but all I can find locally is vermiculite. Can I still use Abey's method with vermiculite instead of perlite or is there a different way to do it?

I have been using albeys method with Vermiculite this year and have had great success. Almost 100% hatch rates. I have only used perlite in two clutch containers this year and its the first time using perlite and One has just hatched from it yesterday. I am out of vermiculite now so will be switching to perlite now. I think both work great with albey's method.

Thank you Zach! I really appreciate the feedback. I'll probably end up ordering a large amount of perlite and vermiculite off the web at some point before the next cluth, but as for now I have to stick with vermiculite only. Thanks again.

Try walmart for Schultz brand perlite. It's a bit dusty near the bottom of the bag, but cheap to buy and hatches my eggs 100%.

Thanks paulnj, I've actually been looking for it at walmart, but havn't had any success. I did end up getting a vermiculite/perlite mix today from my GF's aunt that owns a huge green house. 13lbs bag free ^^ can't beat that.
