Hey guys and gals,

I don't post much but I ALWAYS read on a daily basis so hear goes. Do any of you have to deal with a really aggressive male for breeding? Twice in 6 months or so, I have put a normal male in with my four girls in a 40breeder and twice I had to take him out because 3 of my girls had bite wounds on their tails and backs. This doesn't happen with my other male - a het for tremper (thanks Jeremy!). He is very gentle with all the females. I don't want to ever place him with females anymore but I just wanted to know if you guys have had the same problems.

I had a male that was like that. Fortunally one of the females he was placed with was just as aggresive as he. I think she kicked his butt a few times, and now he's a lot more gentle. Now I don't know if this will work all the time, maybe my male just got whipped good.

Mine too, i had a first time breeder albino male paired with a first time breeder normal girl and he was so desperate. He grabed her tail and her neck(luckily didnt do her damage) but mated with her throughout the whole night. The next morning i saw my male with a tiny scab in his face, lol.

Now they live together, and they have been a wonderful couple.

outta my freakin mind
Hey Greg, some males are just naturally more aggressive breeders. If the females aren't bleeding, I would say that he is doing fine. It does appear to be rather nasty at times. If he is truly roughing them up, then you may want to try him only with bigger females. Like Felicia said, sometimes a good smackfrom a bigger girl will calm a male down. ;)

My male unfortunately has broken the skin on my three females on seperate occasions. All of my females are the same size as the male except for one female. She has not had any bite wounds from the male, I guess he knows who to mess with LOL because he doesn't go near her. He is my most docile gecko so I am just amazed at the night and day difference!
