Very Long Story

So here goes. In November, my female leo had some sort of tail infection. It didn't clear up with antibiotics so I had the end part of her tail amputated in February. Surgery went very well but after 2 or so weeks the sutures had still not fallen out and she was not shedding around the incision. The skin was cutting pretty deep and I was worried that she would loose the end of her tail. I took her back in, she had the sutures removed but the skin was pretty well stuck to her tail. I've been giving her baths twice a day and antibiotics to try and get this shed to fall off. Well it hasn't really worked. She still has skin stuck to her tail. However, the skin has gotten very soft and I was able to trim about half of it off. Here is the new issue. She won't eat when she is on antibiotics so I made the decision to stop all 4 meds (3 antibiotics and meloxicam) because her tail wasn't an open wound any more. I have been force feeding her since November and she has lost about 15 -20 grams. Today I noticed that her belly has 2 large, bluish-black spots and she is very quiet. For the last few days she has been only staying on the cold side and when I cam home today she as laying with her head in the water and wouldn't move (even when I touched her). After her bath this evening, I had to pull all her shed off because she is too lethargic to shed herself. I'm really concerned and don't really have a ton of money to keep putting into this (I've already spent over $600 in vet bills). I don't really know what to do at this point. Any advice?

I'm sorry for your loss. I noticed the geckos tend to sleep against the cold edge of their enclosure when they're very near their end.

I'm very curious about this because my gecko just passed away last night and she was on antibiotics for her arm. She was a little lathargic and her arm was swollen so I brought her to the vet. She was on antibiotics for a few days and it seemed to get worse. All her joints started swelling up now and she was super lathargic. She slept on the cold side all the time (like yours did), laid in the water , didn't move...then passed away in her cave..BUTT she had the same black spot like you mentioned!! I always check her out so I know that spot wasn't there before. She has dark spots (where her heart is and stuff) but it was really dark and large...

Is antibiotics okay for geckos?!
