Many of you may remember that my Lemzip had his tail amputated earlier this year; the emergency vet stitched up his wound and so he's just left with a very short stub. Well, last night he was in shed, and when he's done, I checked him for retained shed and noticed the underside of his little stub VERY red. I'm extremely worried that he may have an infection.
I called the vet clinic this morning as soon as they open, and was told that their most knowledgeable vet, who is specialised in reptiles, is fully booked till November! And I know her bookings are mainly for seeing cats and dogs...Yes, I know everybody's pets are precious, but there are just so little reptile vet here and their time slot is always taken up by non-reptile owners! I finally did made an appointment with someone else that sees reptile, but the earliest is Friday, still FOUR days to go!
Sorry for ranting, but I get really stressed when something happens to my geckos. I woke up 6 o'clock this morning, checked Lemzip again, the area is still red but a lot less than last night; there are a couple spots that are deep red though. I really hope that he is not having an infection, and the redness is caused by shedding last night. Maybe that area is still too delicate? Good thing is he's still acting and eating normal.
