So im getting a viper gecko in a few days i have a 7gallon tank for it which iv read up is a good size i have a UTH of course, but i know the care needs, there just one question im sure its a young one its about 2inchs long so its not fully grown so the question is what substrate should i use as all the websites say sand or paper towel i know paper towel is safer but has anyone ever had issues with sand and these geckos and is tile safe?

Thanks Jordan

We put our babies and juvies on paper towels, we have both of our adults on sand. Each one is housed individually. Hope this helps.

I would keep them on paper towels, that's how I keep my baby vipers. It's just way to easy to get impactions when they're that tiny. I've never used tile but as long as they can't get under it and get crushed I see no problem.
