So these two just hatched from W&Y x Mack Eclipse het Tremper pairing. Kinda weird babies. Both have this unusual color and completely black eyes.

Maybe it's similar genetics in the W&Y, that bring out the eclipse trait?

I mean, they're separate lines, but that doesn't mean that the genes can't be compatible. It would just be a new and pleasant surprise for the W&Y line.

The male Lotta had, which moved to A&M now, was from W&Y x Normal, and had also complete black eyes. There must be something mysterious with this morph.

There are so many different ways to come up with black eyes in leos.

I don't doubt W&Y have their own trait; but it would be cool to prove out if it's a variant of eclipse or if it's its own strange quirk, that interacts with eclipse.

Perhaps you could breed one of the offspring to a known eclipse and one back to a W&Y next seaon and see what happens?

We are stopping breeding leopardgeckos. So if anyone is interested he can do this job, with getting the dad and the two babies from me.

It could be like withthe blizzards false eclipse or sometimes you have false eclipse on engimas, too.

BTW max, why are you stopping?

Ohh and Tony you´re right, it shows the "W/Y" is from LAG and than you don´t know what Konrad crossed into it and I bet their is a real good chance it is het Eclipse as Konrad surerly tried to cross his "W/Y" to the Raptor line.

But I´m not sure if Konrad even had W/Y as many ppl which I asked told me his are no W/Y and that came from 2 different big breeders and one has the biggest W/Y collection in Europe the other one just sold all to someone else.

I did see the white nose.

I was thinking it might be how every once in awhile a "new albino" line pops up, that breeds out to prove one of the lines already known of. So while the genetics are the same, it isn't from the original line. Which is cool for outcrossing, were it the case.

Now that we know more about the background of the line here, I feel rather sheepish.

They look eclipse to me, too. The white nose is what makes me think it more than the black eyes.

They're very nice, too!

That white nose is a dead giveaway! :main_yes: Mack Eclipse for me as well.

On a side note, the Mack Snow gene can give you solid eyes as well. But again, I say those have to be Eclipse. Very cool hatchlings, the lot of them! :)
