My females are confusing me and i need some advise.

They .... my oldest started chasing my little one around the cage. (They are about the same size they are just nicknames for them)
The whole time the little one is wagging its tail.
I have even seen it wag its tale in the older ones face like it was trying to intaginize somthing. They whould run for a sec or two untell one of the gives up and stops. then the little one will wag it again. They are both females and I know how the male wags when hes matting. but this is diffrent its slow wagging like a happy cat wags its tail. It only happens once, if that , a night. then during the day they will most of the time sleep side by side under the warm house like nothing happend.

I dont want to get rid of the little one put if this is fighting I cant have three houses going.
So im wondering befor i get rid of them...

1 are they fighting
2 way is the lilly(older one) running after the little one
3 what dose the slow tale wagging mean. I have seen the male do it when I put my hand in his cage then he "jumps" onto my hand.
4 why is the little on wagging its tale at the older one.

From what I know they wag their tails when catching prey. I have heard sometimes they do it to sent mark. Also it could also be a sign of aggression.

my female was doing this to my male i took it as more of a leave me alone

my male was not botherd and just went around his normal routine but the female was watching him.

they had one tiny fight but wounds are almost healed *if you can call it a wound* she does not go for my male at all its quite ffunny to watch sometimes they just do it

i would watch and chack every day for bite marks

If you had too you could buy a 20 dollar bin to keep them separate. I hate to see a gecko loose it's home.

this isnt the same wagging that my male dose to find a mate or any of them do when eating. this is slow and stedy and seems almost happy. my male was like a helacopter when he was wagging his tail and hittng a leaf.

I have noticed a view old wounds. one on the neck head and tale. but not sure is the older one did it or if it was the male who did it before i got him out. the wounds seem to be healing. they look like dry skin.

And my room is not big enough to have 4 tanks in it. I have have a 20 long with 2 females a 10 with a male. and a 10 with frogs in it. my room cant have more without puting one of them to close to my wall heater.

Eat the frogs and put the female in it. Your leos are actively killing eachother.

Are you also sure that the one chasing the little one is a female? my friend made the mistake as well and she dropped her tail from the "female" chasing her alot.

do you have enough hides so they don't have to share? they could be fighting over territory

sence this thread was posted

they seem to be getting along well
The little on will walk over to lilly and wagg its tail slowly.
lilly will walk out of her hiding spot and look at the little one. If lilly is awake durning this she will raise her head and the little one will enter lillys cave and the will sleep side by side. If lilly was asleep and was woke up by the little one (she stoped chasing her but) the little one will run away.

Becase i have been worried i have been watching them and where they sleep.
the little one likes the wet hide and lilly the hot hide.
noone like the cold hide.
But its not just a one way street.
when lilly wants in the wet hide the same transation happens. lilly will wage her tail at the little ones door. (lillys tell has grown back) and the little one will decide if she wants lilly inside. if its a no Lilly will sit in the cold house for a while before going and asking a agian of going back to her house.

Im still worried and may still turn the little one up for adoption but sence her last shed there have been no dried skin or wounds that i have seen.

I have even seen the eating together again.
Im going to make them another hiding spot higher in the cage when I make somthing for my male.

They are not "asking", it's a challenge. Tail wagging is a defense, or a challenge...a territorial thing. They are your geckos, so it is completely your choice, and you can interpret their behavior how you wish, and in turn react how you wish. I think it is sad that one of your geckos may have to go because they are doing what is natural to them. I wish you the best.

Geckos interactions with other geckos can be difficult to interpret. Same thing as dogs...a lot of subliminal messaging is going on, things it is hard for us to understand, as we are human and can vocalize things. A lot has to do with body language.

Good luck in whatever you decide.

I think one of them is trying to establish dominance. If you don't divide them you're running the risk of a dropped tail. I have a group of six females that I keep together when they're not breeding. They went through a similar power struggle. A few nips here and there, but I think we're past that. All is well in that group these days.

Just a suggestion so that you don't have to rehome one of them........is it possible to divide the cage into seperate living spaces for them so that they can't harm one another, but it doesn't take up anymore space in your room?

Mine did this today hunting for crickets. Sure, he does the little wiggle right before he strikes, but today it was more like he was happy.

I noticed that same sounding tail wagging yesterday in my normal adult female. I picked her up to make sure everything was ok and nothing seemed off so i put her back down. She immediately kind of gets low to the ground, and she lifts her tail off the ground and slowly wags it from one side to the other. It really reminds me of a cat stalking a mouse or something similar. She's not an aggressive leo from what i've seen, she actually is the calmest of all the adults i have. So far i haven't witnessed any sort of fighting or any issues at all, in fact most of the time she's sleeping in the same hide with another. From what i understand she's been cagemates with the others for quite a long time so i wouldn't think aggression. I've considered separating her from the group though. I'll continue to monitor for any increased aggressive behavior, if it does occur i'll remove her from the group.
