Warm side temp

Not sure where to exactly post this but here it goes. Ok. I have a 20 gallon take but a UTH for a 5 gallon tank. Where do I put the digital probe to take the temp. Exactly over the pad or to the sides of the rock since I think that where she snuggles

The large rock to the left is her warm side.

Put the probe as close to touching the heat pad as possible. You may be able to tape it there. You need to be able to read floor temps.

If direct sunlight from that window is hitting the tank it can heat it up.
