Hey everyone, so I was cleaning out my two Leo's tanks today ..and stupidly enough I put them in my empty tank while I was cleaning ( I took them out after like 3 seconds after realizing that I had put them together -_- ) right before I took them out I saw that my male was staring at her ..and started ..(arm waving? or scratching the bottom of the tank) with his front hands is that a sign that he was going to mate with her? ..I know that they shake their tail but I'm not sure what the arm thing was about ..anyone know? even after I took the female out he kept ..scratching the area that she was standing.

anyone know what happend?

It only takes a blink for the male to get a whiff- then it's on. Good thing you saw them and realized what could happen right away. After our last show, I was putting display only leos back in their homes and accidentally put a female in her boyfriends crib. When I pulled him out of the styrofoam container to put away, I realized my mistake. So she went back in the correct spot and he in his home. Well she had gone into his hide. He went in there and started rattling his tail,as if to say, come out come out wherever you are... he smelled her. Poor boy had to just get over it :( So yes, that was the behavior you witnessed.

What does it mean when they "paw" the floor looks like he was scratching the floor with his front foot ..I know they shake their tail when seeing the female ..but never knew about the arm thing. Anyone know the term for this?
