hahaha you know you're leo obsessed when you act like a leo cheerleader with cries of 'Your almost there! LOOK! Its sitting right in front of you!! Nooooo you missed it!!!' etc. Anyone else do this? I love it when she makes a dive for one and then manages to nab the cricket when you thought for sure there was no way she'd make it :main_laugh:

Oh and as a side note, one of the crickets I got today is deformed...it has only one, twice as long, leg. Acts totally normal, was drinking, eating, so I'm not sure whether I should eliminate that one or if it doesn't matter....any thoughts?

Yah the tail shaking cracks me up lol. I don't really sympathize much with the bugs, and when Rin needs food I don't really care about whether the cricket is happy or not. I figure enjoying a burger or watching someone enjoy eating something you cooked is no different then enjoying watching your leo eat its food so happily lol. Besides, for the price I pay for feeder insects she BETTER enjoy them, and subsequently I enjoy watching her enjoy them XD

Watching gecko hunting behavior is hilarious things about having geckos. One of my favorite things about them. They get so excited.

Well I've tried letting the crickets loose in the tank to watch Merlin hunt but he's gotten stuck a couple times on the reptile carpet, he hasn't now but I don't like risking that so I just feed him using the tongs I got. He loves it though, he gets all excited when he realizes it's meal time! Even watching him go for the mealworms is funny too! He gets in his little stance and turns his head and pounces, and has a great appetite. If he misses a few times, he'll ignore the insect for a bit, until he decides he's really hungry. He gets annoyed when he misses, and I feel for him, but he'll eventually get the meal ^^

Yah, Rin used to get stuck on the reptile carpet but that stressed me out too much (and her too I'm sure) so I switched to tile and all is well now lol. Yah, same with Rin, when she misses she gets all grumpy and will stop hunting until she gets hungrier lol.

Lol well I am hoping that after I get home, since I am being paid to house sit, I will be able to use some of that to get tile slates for the 20 gallon and we'll see how that goes. For now though, will have to stick to reptile carpet for a couple more days. How do you clean the tile slates though?

The tiles are sooo easy to clean! Way easier then the rep-carpet was (in my opinion) I have flukers reptile cleaner (comes with a brush) so I just use that on the tile and voila! Though lately I've been using a one part vinegar to nine parts water method that works just as well and cleans/kills bacteria. I stick them in the tub and hose them first with the shower head and then I use a cloth and clean it more thoroughly, works great and they look brand new afterwards :D The only thing with tile is that spot cleaning isn't as easy since its more liable to stick to the tile which basically means I'm cleaning it at the end of every week.
