So my giant was fed pinkys a lot before I got him, Ive had him for about 2 months hes 70g.I couldnt get him to eat anything bc I dont want to feed pinkies. Finally he ate waxis which I gave him 3 times. but now wont eat anything else. Ive had some mealies in a bowl in his cage for 3 days and he wont touch them. Should I jsut leave them till he eats. Will he just eat when he gets hungry or should I feed him waxis again. I know waxis are not good as a only diet. :main_huh:

I would stop the waxies, they are very fattening. Maybe try crickets or leave the dish of mealies in there and change them out often so they are active a healthy leo will not starve and will eat when hungry.

hey i hope this helps, leaving mealworms in their enclosure isnt all that good of an idea unless they'll eat 'em..geckos are stimulated by movement so if those mealworms die in that bowl they'll stay there forever because your gecko wont touch 'em..waxworms should be kept for treats unless your trying to fatten your gecko up..for anymore questions comment or message back!!

hmmm, yea that makes sense I keep checking though to see if theyre still alive. But hes not touching them, so how can I get him to eat something besides waxis? I even put in a new bowl tonight and tried to dangle them infront of him, he just turned his nose up and walked away. But whenever I walk by his cage he like runs towards me like I have food for him or something. I think hes hungry he just wont eat the meal worms. I even tried bigger ones. hes such a Diva

wow ok..well if u have tongs wat u can do is take your leo out his/her tank right place it on your computer desk or a table, pull out a waxie and instead of puttin it in front of your leo put it to the side and let it wiggle around on the table..ive noticed that my gecko's eyes arent alwaies looking forward but more out'word towards their sides u noe??so trie that and if that doesnt work trie crickets or take it to a vet as a last resort..
