I know this should go in a sub forum but it does not seem to have alot of activity.

I have a leopard gecko I need to put some weight on. If I buy 50 wax worms and use that as its staple till they run out do I risk the gecko refusing its staple of regular mealworms?

Yes it will. Geckos can easily become addicted to waxworms, and refuse all other food. If your gecko is underweight, you need to give it nutritional food that is well gutloaded and dusted in order to gain back "healthy" weight. Feeding them waxworms like that would be like having an underweight person eat nothing but fried twinkies in order to gain some weight; It will make them fatter, but not healthier. Waxworms should be used very sparingly as a treat. I hope this answered your questions :) As long as your gecko is eating regularly, and a proper amount, it should gain back some good weight :)

Yep, agree with above. I only use waxworms once in a very great while, and only one or two as a treat. It's better for the gecko to gain weight using nutritional food like roaches. Mealworms and superworms, while not as healthy, do also help with weight gain.
