wax worms

many of you feed waxworms as a treat to your leos, my question is that my leos only eat at night when im usually sleeping, can i throw a waxworm or two in a dish with mealies or will one kill the other????

Meal worms will try to eat the wax worms. You could try to feed them some before you go to bed, by putting one in front of your geckos and see if they will eat it or not. But if you don't want to do that, then I would say to put the wax worms in another dish for your geckos. I did the mistake of putting a couple of wax worms in with the meal worms and about an hour later I seen the meal worms eating one of the wax worm. I hope this helps

oh yes meal worms think that wax worms are major treats for themselves as well as the geckos. i once saw a mealie crawl out of a wax worm! needless to say my dears have seperate bowls for their worms now

My gecko isnt allowed to have wax worms anymore because any time i try to give them as a treat, she feels they should be her main diet and wont eat the mealies for the next few days. Lucky i dont give in to her, or she might weight 300 grams!
