They are very addicting and fattening they should only be used in certain circumstances

possibly but i would go with crickets or get more mealworms waxworms are not a good staple diet and they can refuse other feeders after using them I feed them to my breeding females or geckos that i rescue that need fattening up

I would try something before waxies. Just like Jason said, they can get addicted to them, and something you can't get them off of them. So try and feed something else. Cricks, supers, etc.

wax worms

I think everything has a solution. I use wax worms regularly. They keep weight up on laying females. They will start non-eaters eating again. I feed my wax worms, unlike articles written about them. I also have tested different gut load items on my meal worms, to try to make them more appealing to the geckos. I feed wax worms along with the meal worms.
I find that geckos are smart enough (unless sick) to not starve themselves because you run out of wax worms.......They are a plus to me in the gecko diet. take care.... HJ
