We've come up empty handed in our year or so search for a Rankins/Lawsons Dragon. We didn't think we'd ever find one, so we broke down a got a beardie at the Hamburg show last weekend. We absolutely love this guy, he's nothing like the one we had 4 years ago. The beardie we had 4 years back wasn't handleable, never ate veggies and only wanted crickets. This guy is the complete opposite. For one he's gorgeous, he's a huge ham and loves being out, he loves his crickets but he also eats his greens too. We couldn't be happier with this little guy. Anyway, here he is...don't mind his poop. I wish he wouldn't go on his basking rock haha.

Check out his gut!

We thought he would, but he didn't. The water was around 100* and he was in there for 10 minutes or so.

He's a pet. I couldn't imagine breeding these guys. Ours eats 60-75 crickets a day. The females lay a pile of eggs...that's way too many mouths to feed haha. We like them a ton, just not enough to try and breed them.

That is definitely a nice one there. He has some size to him too. I am certainly interested in update pictures as he grows. I bet those colors with get pretty intense. Congratulations, dragons make such great pets when they are socialized well with humans.

Actually, it looks like you have everything in hand.

Btw, if he is on sand, I suggest switching to tiles/paper towel.

If you look at the second photo, you can see we have him on paper towel. We're going to put him on tile when he's bigger. Right now he's a pooping machine so the paper towels are best.

I couldn't tell, on the camera it looks like calci-sand, or pattern-less papertowel..
