Ok, so I had bred 2 of my gecko's and they had eggs forming ect, well I was gonna be out of town and we figured we had atleast 3 to 5 days, However doing the latest feeding, cleanup ect I got worried even though they still looked like they had eggs I did not see anything.

I decided just to move the top of the egg laying material and there they were, I did not know they would of covered them so well.

Here is my worry, question, I keep the cool side between 73 - 75 and The eggs could of been there for aprox 3-5 days.

I rushed them to my encumbator, but will these even hatch ?

thank you.

Side note: I recently read people keeping the cool side up to 80, is this advisable ?

They could probably still hatch if they were fertile. How do they look? White, firm, and healthy? Or yellow, gooey, and sick?

Keep you warm side at 92 and let the cool side get down to low 70's if they want to stay closer to 80 then they will but if they want to get any lower they couldn't if the coolest the cage got was 80.

I think you have a good shot. Some of my eggs went as low as 70 (accident) and they just hatched.

I would candle them in a week and see how they look.

I keep my lay box over the UTH just to make sure it's warm enough in there, in case I miss them. I have had them buried too.

I drove 2600 miles in 3 days with 17 leopard gecko eggs in a soft cooler heated by a 25 watt aquarium heater in a water bottle with no way of regulating the temperature (and it went down to the 70s sometimes), and I only lost 1 egg. I think you're okay. I think older eggs are less likely to be affected by temperature fluctuations than younger eggs. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya!

Thank you so much for the information. I hope they are ok. I will update on the status of them when I check in a week.

Well the 2 eggs molded and went soft and gooey : ( Should I reintroduce the male to this female now or wait to see if her 2nd clutch is fertile ?
