He seemed like he wasn't feeling well last night. I'm not sure what happened.

He was one of four healthy beautiful baby ball pythons born last July. I had my hands on this little angel from the moment he came out of the egg.
He and his brother were inseperable. Aside from feedings, they insisted on being together at all times. We tried seperating them once and they both stopped eating and wouldn't come out of their hides until they were reunited.

I just don't understand what could have happened. My poor, sweet little baby. I'm going to miss him so very much.

I am so very sorry you lost your beautiful boy. The most recent photo looks as though he was in very good health, so I can only imagine the shock and bewilderment to have lost him!

Something we ALL need to remember... we are dealing with living creatures. All living things die, either with or without a reason or explanation. God has blessed us with the custody of all living things, so we naturally want to find answers for when things like this happen.

You were truly blessed with this beautiful creature, if even for a short time. My hopes and prayers are with you that his loss will ease with time, and that his sibling will thrive as a single entity.

Thank you so much, everyone.
We are so blessed to have each and every one of these precious animals in our care. These little guys are my heart and soul. I am so thankful for the brief time I had that sweet little boy.

We put his brother into his enclosure after feeding him and he went straight to the spot they always met up and waited for him. After a couple hours, he went crawling around the entire tank like he was looking for him, then went over to a back corner and burrowed down into the substrate in a tight ball. He won't come out.
They usually met up after eating and crawled underneath the big waterdish together and slept off their meal for a day or two.
I've never seen it before, but I think he might be grieving.:sad3:

His first birthday would have been July 18th.
He had his mother's personality. He was very friendly and out going. From the time he emerged from his egg, he never showed any fear of humans. He would go to anyone. Couldn't have asked for a sweeter, more loving little boy.

What very amazing words, Marcia, I got some chills just reading them.

K, I am so very sorry for your beloved loss. Only time can heal our wounds, and even that sometimes doesn't work. You will always have him, in your heart, memories, and dreams; and you will be in our thoughts and hearts to help give you strength during such a difficult time.

Well, I took him out a couple days ago to try and feed him. He wouldn't eat. I still have one of his sisters, so I tried putting them together. He showed interest for a little bit, but ultimately went off into his own corner and curled up in a ball.:(
I'm going to watch him over the next couple days to see if he'll perk up some.
