Has any one ever had to deal with delays due to weather?

If so were you able to get your money back?

I know it sounds like the answer would be no. But The gentleman I am shipping has a son who flies private jets. His son told him to day that he had no problems and that DHL and FedEx landed right before him. I am shipping UPS Next Day 10:30 so it should be guaranteed.

If anything I would think there would be a delay mainly due to the holidays at this time. Weather can do it sometimes, but you just need to check the locations the leo will be stopping at en route, your customers location, and yours.

I have had UPS take two days to deliver, when I had paid for Next Day Air. If it ever happens, they will try to charge you on the bill, and I have had to complain to them twice, but each time they credited my account.

Next Day Air is guaranteed, and you can get your money back.

Most shippers will refund the shipping costs if their deadlines are not met due to their own error, but if you read their TOS you will see that delays due to weather or problems beyond their control are not covered.

UPS's Terms and Conditions of Service (can be found at bottom of home page) doesn't actually state weather, they state acts of God, natural disasters and causes beyond UPS's control. This can be found on page 12 of their TOS. They never actually state weather as a whole. A normal or severe thunder storm does not count as a natural disaster unless declared by the governor. As for an act of God, well we all know there are people out their that either believe in another power or they don't believe in any God. So if you ask me that cop out shouldn't apply to those people. And what exactly counts as an act of God? Part of my beef is they don't simply state weather. Causes beyond UPS's control can be anything they want it to be, just like an act of God.

I just feel that they should make some of their disclaimers a little more clear. Their TOS is already 28 pages long, so what is a few more pages going to hurt to help clarify some of the info.

And that is exactly why they put it in there Terms. I had a delivery arrive late, and called Fed Ex and they stated that the delay was due to weather and wouldn't refund the shipping. I didn't even know of any "Weather" conditions in the area, they stated it was fog or something like that.
