Weening off crickets and on to CGD ideas?

So I've had my little buddy Gexter Morgan for almost 2 months now, and he still is cricket crazy! I found out the pet shop I got him from only fed him crickets dusted with supplements.

I read that most people will withhold crickets until they start eating the CGD and even then crickets aren't necessary, so I tried that, but my poor little dude will peer into my frog enclosure and watch the crickets almost salivating! Not only that, but every time I would mist his enclosure, he would lunge at the water droplets that were falling with his mouth open trying to eat them!

He was starting to get thinner than I felt comfortable with (I know cold blooded animals can go awhile without eating, but still) so I started dusting his CGD onto crickets and trying to get the crickets to eat the mix in hopes that it would help him develop a taste for it, although I'm not sure that's how it works with reptiles lol.

Any tips or tricks that you guys have that might help my little buddy make the switch? This guy looks at crickets the way I look at chocolate cake, so I'm willing to try anything!

Here's some pictures:

the next time you feed him,try this; put a little food on your fingertip, and dab it on his nose. he'll lick it off sooner or later. just keep dabbing it on as he licks it off,he'll eventually eat it straight from your finger. once you're sure that He's got a taste for the food, withhold the bugs again.
on a side note, cresties tend to look kinda skinny when they're growing up,they seem to be all head sometimes.

Get tip, @jetfire !

I know it's stressful but sometimes I force the issue a bit by only feeding what I want them to eat. Then they have a choice, eat or don't eat. Obviously you can only do this for so long and you have to really keep up on how much they're eating but it can work if it's done properly
