i have been weighting my geckos weekly and noticed one of my females went from 42.8g on 6/27 to 41.5g on 7/4 should i be concerned? also there was a shed from her in that week can that be part of the weight drop?... she is almost a year old is this weight to low for her age? (i am not breeding until next year) ...she did eat a mealworm when i hand fed it to her....

How much food are you offering her?

That is on the small side for almost a year old. A picture would help determine if she's just a small gecko, or if she's underweight.

As far as the weight drop goes, they can fluctuate a bit ... depending on if they just ate, just pooped, etc. That small of a change I wouldn't worry about.

She looks to be a decent size/build. I would guess she's simply a small gecko. She could continue to grow for another 6 months. If you plan on breeding her, you'll want to plump her up first.

How much, and what, are you feeding her?

there is a bowl full of mealworms for her (calcium dust and herptivite) also she gets the occasional wax worm and butter worms..we also give crickets every other day..could she be ovulating?

It's possible she's ovulating, which might cause her to stop eating for a few days. Check her belly and look for a pink spot the size of an eraser, below her ribs (about 1/2 way down).

Are you gutloading everything? Mealworms are little poop tubes (so are crickets for that matter), and quickly loose anything they've eaten. How often do you switch out/add new mealworms?

yes we gut load our crickets and mealworms with a 10 grain cereal that marcia uses and give them carrots and romaine...every day we go through the mealie bowl and pull out the dead or skins of the mealworms i will check her tonight to see if she has the eraser thing going on thanks again shanti its greatly appreciated

Ok, sounds good. I'd give temps a quick check (too low or too high could cause an eating problem). So long as they're 90-94 on the warm side you're good. I'd say MINIMUM 88. If all of that checks out, I'd say she's simply a little girl.
