Weight Loss

I'm curious how much weight a leo might lose during a season of breeding. Is it a very noticeable weight loss? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have some that have a small weight loss and others that lose quite a bit before laying and gain it back between clutches and others that lose quite some to quite a bit and don't gain it back until the season is over.

I have noticed that most of my 2nd or 3rd year breeders seemed to lose less than 1st timers during the season and gain it back more rapidly.

Ah okay, so it shouldn't be too much of a concern if one of my females (who was being bred by its previous owner) is in need of some weight gaining then...

I'll keep an eye on her. She's still got weight (haven't been able to weight her because she just doesn't like being held right now...). She's eating very healthily though, vicious eater actually. So, I'll try to get her weight this weekend (put her in a deli cup or something) and then keep an eye on it. Her stool looks very clean though. Would pinworm show up somehow in the stool?

Usually, but not always. However, if the gecko had enough of an infestation to cause it to lose weight, my guess would be that a good fecal would show at least a noticeable amount of pinworm eggs.

Ah, well she just ate her first meal since arriving in a box, so she'll get some more stuff soon. I'll keep an eye on it, but thus far I haven't seen any pinworms or anything unusual in their stool. My littlest one had a cricket antenna in it...but yeah
