Hi all

I am just worrying a little about Toon's weight. She will be a year old around January or February but only weighs about 45 grams. Epic hatched this past June and is quite a bit larger than Toon, though I haven't actually weighed her. Toon doesn't appear skinny, her tail is plump. She doesn't eat a whole lot but she is pretty active and acts normal. Is she just petite?

She sounds fine to me. :) I have a couple that aren't very big eaters either. Most leos slow down eating in the winter because of the drop in temperature, so she should pick up eating in the spring.

Also, to answer your question, yes, some girls are just "petite".
As long as she has good body tone and her tail is plump, I'd say don't worry.

I have a few girls that hover around 42-48g no matter what, and if they gained more weight, they'd be obese.

I agree with Janece, don't worry about the weight, as long as the gecko looks fine to you, she is probably doing just fine!

Some geckos aren't meant to be big, I have a female that is petite but very healthy looking. It's all about them looking proportional, being active & alert, and feeding well. There's nothing wrong with being 45g.
