Weird actions and poop

So I've decided to take a stool sample to the vet ASAP. But check this out. My new leopard gecko Annie was on sand for a week in a 10 gallon tank. All from the previous owner who left her at the door step of a local pet shop.

I changed her tank to a brand new 20L with Tile and two brand new hides.

She pooped normal for a week on sand and then I changed her to tile and she pooped fine for a week and then the past 2 nights her poop has been wet.

Normal poop. Wet poop. And then normal again. I just found another wet and runny poop. I'm lost. Shes on tile now and eating regularly. Gaining weight, I feed her repashey dusted mealworms and crickets. Lots of meal worms and crickets since she's a big eater.

Super odd thing tonight though. She saw me and ate a Few mealworms and then got uninterested and started darting across her tank. Like full on sprinting all over for about 30 seconds and then went to hide. I figured she was scared but then 5 minutes later she was walking around exploring.

I came back an hour later and found the new wet poop in her usual corner.

Wondering if it's stress or maybe I'm dusting feeders too much? Temps are fine. 70-75 in the cool side and 90-95 in the warm hide. I change her water every other day and wipe her poop up ASAP.

you Havant had her long so she will be a little stressed for a few weeks/months (depends on the individual gecko as to how long they take to settle into new surroundings/smells)
faeces will varie in wetness depending on how much she eats/ what you feed to feeders. crickets are quite juicy.
see what the results are when they come back and go from there. in the mean time i think you will just have to be patient and see how she settles in.

Its so sad that they just left her on the door step :( it makes me mad that people do things like that.

Thank you for your thoughts. I didn't even think about the fact that crickets are so watery.

Made me sad as well to find out she was left overnight outside a shop, that's why I had to rescue her. The pet store said I could have her for Free as long as I took care of her and got her healthy. She's got a nice weight on her now, and seems to be doing fine with the exception of water stools lately.

I'd assume between $25-$40 depending on the vet. Some may not check stool without seeing the animal in an office visit. I would call around and ask if they treat herps, how much experience they have with them and how much they charge.

Like sausage said she's relatively new so she could be a bit stressed still. I might try monitoring whether she only poops wet after eating crickets, not changing anything in her tank, and not handling her more than twice a week for at least a week or two before I got too worried :)

Yea I have some geckos that can never eat crickets or waxworms because they get diarrhea. Even just a change in Mealworm breeders has caused some irregularity in my more sensitive geckos.

I called 2 vets this morning, and each of them said they just need the stool samples and don't need to see the animal. They both will ship our the samples and get back to me in a weeks time. I figure if i'm gonna wait a week, I will just do what you guys said.

I will record and monitor her feeding and bathroom habits for a week. I know it's not full blown Diarrhea, it's just really wet. Thank you guys for all the help. Means a lot to me and Annie. Saves me from stressing out and paying money when I might not need too.

It's been a little over 2 weeks, keep you guys posted.

another thing is that stools on sand appear dryer due to the sand soaking up some excess liquid so on tiles it would appear wetter.
I think that because you said she hasn't got full blown diarrhea your be okay with just monitoring her for a few weeks.
if it gets worse seek a vet, but im sure shell be fine :)
can we see her?? :D

awww what! she dosnt sound aggressive, but it wouldn't surprise me if she was aggressive to the previous owner. i mean i would have beef with the person that pulled off my tail lol
geckos are no different then other animals, if they don't like you there's nothing you can do about it :p
One of my males HATES my mother! the bites her and draws blood or spazzes out in the viv if he sees/smells her lol, hes fine with me

Tonight she licked my finger and then nibbled on my finger lol. Figured she was hungry. Didn't hurt. Wouldn't even consider it a bite. Just a light nibble.

When I fed her she ate 15 mealworms. The most I've ever seen her eat in one sitting. Guess I know her nibble is a sign of hunger. I don't think she's aggressive at all. Just breaking her in and we are getting use to one another.

After 15 mealworms last night. I got a perfect stool. Not too wet or dry. It's a work of art. Happy to see mealies are good for her poop.

Now I gotta clean it hahah.
