when do geckos eat? i know they are nocturnal and they are up at night, but how can they see their food? or do they eat during the day when no one is looking?...lol... i sound like such a noob (have had beardies for 3 years) , but there are so many little things to learn about geckos....what they like, dislike, etc, etc...... i sat there for 20 min tonight just watching them and only my blizzard moved around the cage, but she didnt eat anything.... i will count the food tomorrow to see if any of them ate anything.....thanks in advance..

They eat at night, they are nocturnal...which also means they can see at night. Like cats, if that helps.

I'm not sure how long you've had him, but if you haven't had him for very long he/she may not eat for a couple - few days. You want to leave him alone to let him settle in.

Hope this helps.

All mine will eat day or night. If offered a big juicy superworm, and they're hungry, they snap it up at 10am or 10pm. Some do prefer to eat later and just nap thru all my rustling around cages.

Mine also eat at night. Some of my raptors have the dark ruby eyes and they feed at night. The other half of my raptors have a brighter colour red, they need total darkness to feed in private.

Semus would have a field day... actually leos are crepuscular meaning most active at sunset and sunrise so they are not true nocturnals who actually wail until the sun has set before they emerge. I'm with Laney on this one... Eros will also eat no matter what time of day it is, I just happen to feed him in the evening because that's when I have the most time for 1 on 1 interactions with him.

Its still fun learning.I've had leos for a long time now and there is all sorts of things I'm learning. When I first started there were only normal leos. After a while u like to think u know most things about husbundry. And then u get to another level where u finally know most genetics. And then the last 3 yrs Ive gotten into breeding which I'm still learning things.Any time I suggest things to other ppl is from my personal experience.
